Internal shaking at night

What could be the cause of internal shaking at night.  I have had it in one arm, also, like last night all over.  If feels like a rush of my blood through all my veins.  It lasted about 30+ seconds, then I got up, came to the computer to see what I could find out. I did take one melatonin capsule when I went to bed and have for the last 3 or 4 nights.   I do have hypothyroidism and am told that I am "pre-diabetic".  Is this all related?  How serious? What to do about it?

I'm sorry about the endocrinologist experience- it seems like it is really tough to find a good one, but I'm glad you have a primary care physician willing to actively participate in your thyroid care!  I'm also glad it sounds like you are feeling some better than when you came here to research?  

There thankfully are steps one can take to try to prevent full-blown diabetes.  I have a parent who was diagnosed as pre-diabetic.  Has your primary care doctor talked with you about what you can do to minimize your risks of getting diabetes?

Thank you so much for taking your time to respond.  I have seen my primary doctor and am waiting for results of blood tests.  I have not had anything any where near what hapened and prompted me to do so me research here.  I am not at all happy with my endraconologist and have turned my thyroid issues over to my primary doctor, too.  I know I am pre diabetic and hope it hasn't gone any further, but we'll see.  Thanks again for your much appreciaqted imput.

You might try skipping the melatonin and see if it continues to occur.  If it does, please get yourself a referral to a neurologist- they may want to order an EEG about this internal shaking.  Is your doctor monitoring your blood sugar and have you made any diet modifications to try to prevent a progession into full-blown diabetes?  Are you getting thyroid medication?  Are you getting your thyroid function tested regularly?
