Can you tell me what the reason is behind not supplying the patient with iodine.
My doctor has me on 15 drops of iodine a day with Armour supplements, and my last lab was getting better. It has taken several months but I do see a slight difference.
Your thoughts?
In case of iodine deficiency, the potassium iodine is used;
The Lugol solution was used on the fiield for skin testing of iodine deficiency; this test is no longer used.
In case of NON-Hashimoto's caused hypothyroidism, the current trend is to limit thyroid function inhibitors [fluoride, perchlorate] rather then oversupply the patient with iodine excess.
All I know, is that I took Lugol's Solution sub-lingually for 10 prior to my total thyroidectomy. . .they said it was to reduce the vascularity of the gland.
I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for.
Best of Luck!
