Iodine vs Iodide- what's the difference

I am undergoing LID for RAI treatment. I am confused with the salt issue. Is a salt that says " This salt does not provide IODIDE a necessary nutrient" a IODINE free salt or Iodine and Iodide are two different things? Should I consumed the one that says the statement I posted before?

Thanks for you help

Iodine is the KI and the iodide is the component to produce KI - Both apply to be avoided when doing the LID

I found this on the net

It would seem it is best to avoid both iodine and iodide at the moment.
