Anybody know what these blood test results mean please?!
I had a routine blood test for my thyroid levels last week but dr. also did FBC and Iron levels as MCV was ever so slightly below normal last test.
My thyroid is fine (maintain 125mcg dose) but I came out with these results...
Serum iron level: 6.9 umol/L (normal = 11 - 36)
Serum TIBC: 76.4 umol/L (normal = 53 - 85)
Serum Ferritin: 8 ug/L (pre menopause range 14 - 148 ug/L)
Transferring saturation index: 9% (normal = 20 - 40)
FBC and White blood cell count, everything was in normal ranges - Basophil count seemed to be on the very low end of normal.
HB - 13.7 (11.5 - 15.5 = normal)
WBCs - 6.10 (3.5 - 11 = normal)
Platelet count - 206 (140 - 400 = normal)
RBCs - 0.413 (0.35 - 0.47 = normal)
Haematocrit - 82.6 (80 - 98 = normal)
MCV - 82.6 (80 - 98 = normal) - this was 79 last in Jan
MCH - 27.4 (27 - 33 = normal)
MCHC - 33.2 (31 - 37 = normal)
Differential White Cell Count:
Neutrophil count - 3.59 (1.7 - 8 = normal)
Lymphocyte - 1.89 (1 - 3.5 = normal)
Monocyte - 0.52 (0.1 - 1 = normal)
Eosinophil - 0.09 (0 - 0.46 = normal)
Basophil - 0.01 (0 - 0.2 = normal)
Would really appreciate any insight into what might be wrong? What I can do to fix? Thanks!
