I just had an ultrasound on my thyroid and blood tests. the blood test results came back out of range at .23. My ultrasound came back saying "the right lobe to measure 5.3x1.9x2.0 cm and the left 5.0x1.6x1.5cm the isthmus .48cm it says there is a hypoechoic lesion within the left lobe of the thyroid that measures .5x.3x.6cm that is too small to characterize. I went to a surgeon and he said the ultrasounds look normalNormal saline flush to him, but he wants to do a I123 scan to look for hot/cold spotsBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots. he also said everything looks benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo... I'm wondering if there is another option besides this I123 scan? I don't want radioactiveRadioactive iodine uptake anything in my body...can anyone comment on this for me??? any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks,,,
