Your doctor may just want to make sure before doing any type of treatment that you are actually having thyroid issues. He may want to see if it is something that will resolve itself before putting you on any type of medication. Did he test your B12 , vit D, a lot of people with thyroid also have low levels which in turn causes the aches.
Ask what you can take for the aches and pains. He meant to retest your blood work, not make you suffer with pain for another two months. Call their office.
