Thanks for asking this question. Don't you find it frustrated when you have an adverse reaction to something and you are told there is no correlation? You are far from alone on this. I would check VAERS , the adverse reaction reporting system. Chances are others have had similar reactions. You might want to be cautious about getting unnesecarry vaccines in the future, and I would dump whatever doctor doesn't notate this on your medical chart as a possible adverse reaction. You probably should not be recieving this vaccine or any other vaccine with similar ingredients, just in case.
I had stopped getting vaccinations after age 8 and had been free of disease and sickness then. In 2006 i got Hep B 1 & 2 for a mission trip then last yr I received my last Hep B for Nursing school. After this third vaccination I noticed my appetite change drastically. I've always been know as the girl with the crazy sweet tooth in my family but that changed soon after I completed the series. I now have this amazing craving for salty foods only. One year later I notice a goiter with thyroid pain. I go to the doctor and my sonogram shows a nodule 1-2 wide. So, now I know I'm not the only one. I will never get a vaccine again and regret getting the ones I've gotten so far. The doctor says my thyroid is slowly giving out and I'll inevitably have to be on medication the rest of my life. Pouring money into the pockets of pharmaceutically companies- their agenda fulfilled.
I think it might be the thimersol in the vaccine that's causing the thyroid nodule.
I had a seasonal flu shot recently. The following month I been having subacute thyroiditis(painful thyroid nodules and hyperthyroidism). It's been a month, and my thyroid still hurts. Now I have to start to take huge dose of ibuprofen (3200mg/d).
Hi,
I would say yes, hep b vaccine can cause your system to trigger auto-immune disorders. It happened to me. It triggered previously dormant Graves disease anti-bodies, an auto-immune disorder.

Keeping in line with previous poster, my daughters many yrs ago had Chicken Pox vaccine at ages 18 mos and 2.5yrs old respectively. 6 weeks later one developed a bad reactive arthritis with 104 fevers and at the same timeframe my other daughter got Alopecia (hair loss) pretty badly on her scalp!
The Rheumatologist and Dermatologist both said we'll never know but there is a possibility it was from the vaccine as both were autoimmune issues and their systems may have been challenged.
Now both daughters are 14 & 16 and they recommend booster vaccines .. so their ped strongly suggested they get the booster over the summer "just in case" they have a reaction ...... btw, they both broke out in chicken pox blisters while only a very small % of kids break out with the shot.
I guess my point is that you'll never know but you can have a level of awareness and do alot of reading but keep in mind much on the Internet dealing with vaccines is not valid info while other sites are very good an truly informative.

P.S. Two other children have since had the vaccine at older ages (age 7 and age 5) .. we waited for them to be a bit older for more fully developed immune systems & it became a law for school so had no choice :0
Would seem highly unlikely... while you'd be aware that nodules can grow very quickly from some posts here - the majority grow very slowly, so it's probably a co-incidence that it was found after your third Hep. B shot.
There's probably an outside chance there's an autoimmune connection, you could have your thyroid antibodies checked BUT if positive you'd never know which came first; the antibodies or the Hep. B shot.
Just my personal opinion...
