I used to have GravesGraves disease Disease and I couldn't put on weight. Then within 10 years I had put on 30 kgs and it continues to go on. Nothing seems to take the weight off. I have friends with the same condition and the exact same problem. I eat very reasonably and on a diet I followed with my husband, he lost 10 lbs and I put on 2!! Help if you can.
Thanks
It's very difficult to lose weight while hypo. I've been told by members here AND by my doctors that when my thyroid levels are where they should be, I would be able to lose. I must be getting close because I've managed to lose about 4 pounds over the past couple of months. Not a lot, I know, but at least it's some taken off instead of gaining, which I had been doing for over 2 years. I had put on 30 pounds in a matter of about 3-4 months.........not fun... and no diet and exercise would help budge them until recently. I still have to work at it, but at least now, I know I CAN get it off, rather than fighting a losing battle.
Do you have other symptoms of hypo/Hashi's? If you have a current lab report, maybe you could post the results of your Free T3, Free T4T4 test, TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh, along with their reference ranges and members would be able to comment better.
