Joint Pain

My son is 20 and has had pain in various joints for almost 2 years. He had all the blood work for Lupus,Lyme and such all negative Tested for Celiac negative. His Thyroid was a little off so they put him on 25mcg of Levothyroixin then upped to 50 then down to 25 then up again to 50. His joint pain has increased to the point he hobbles like an old man. Motrin is not working. Naproxin is not working. I asked if he could be having issues with the thyroid meds but was told NO only if he wasn't taking them (he takes everyday). He is having more blood work but since we have not been called I am assuming we will get normal in the mail again. He will be seeing a Rheumie but not for 6 weeks.Any help appreciated. Point me in the right direction.

Hi! How is your son doing? I am thinking i will do a post on this forum. I believe i know a possible reason to his pain. Please read this post. http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Thyroid/Rice-Krispie-joints-to-Jimlow/show/262869

I have joints that make cracking sounds and hurt. It goes away when i dont eat yeast, MSG(made with yeast), vinager(made with yeast), most b-vitamins(yeast), grains, smoked meats or fish(mold spores), fish that has been fed grains, and to some degree also milk. If i eat it, my joints start cracking after one hour. I have researched and it can be an overgrowth of an intestinal yeast called candida that is responcible for the "allergic" reaction.

Hope you test cutting the things out of his diet and see what happens.
Best Wishes, Sandra
