Joint bone Pain/Mouth Ucler

by rohit_786, Apr 02, 2008 03:09PM
I have posted my thread earlier last week , just to recap what i posted . I am having muscles weakness /joint/bone pain /lack of energy dealing with Hypothyroid for last 2 years . My TSH level check 2 days ago was 1.6, FT4 1.4 , however week before that when i had doctor appointment it was TSH 1.4 and FT4 1.4 as well . I know i feel good at 1.0-1.25 TSH value . I am currently taking 75mcg of synthroid.

I have been noticing some mouth ucler , one on my lips and other one i had under the mouth. Is it pretty common in thyroid . Also have very dry mouth which lead to white tongue .Is this normal
Is this normal to have ucler ?
Please share your stories.

Well I am not AR - but he will be around today :)

Are you sure it is ulcers? Being on thyroid meds I believe totally causes dry - white mouth. and if you are having issues with acid as I did - it will cause terrible mouth sores. I think the best thing to do and very inexpensive is to check your PH levels in your body. It's so easy.

This is so common. I have answer two other posts - just this mornning on the same issues.

I searchedtwo years on the white tongue thing with really no sucess linking the two conditions to thyroid - then I started treating it as a acid problem and I have definately found relief. I started on meds - but it made things worse - so I went back to the basics and naturally doing certain things.

Some are so common sense and others were well....... a little far fetched - but I was so desperate to end the tongue thing - and eventually my tongue started burning so bad I wanted to cry.

I am happy this part is somewhat under control for me.

I don't know how to differentiate Ucler and mouth sore , it could be mouth sore . Yes i have extremely dry mouth. The worst problem i am having is joint/bone/muscles pain . It is really hard for me to get up in the morning  i have to push myself ,my muscles  are really sore all the time , fatigue started in the middle of day without even doing physical work . I don't know what to do , is this could be something else going on ?.
I am waiting for one day i can feel better since 2 years.

Hello, long time no hear. I have finally got another diagnose, Ankylosing Spondylitis, you may want to check into it, my white swollen tounge has went down since I been on NSAIDS now. Talk to your Doc about a Bone Scan and Xrays and mention it. Tina

I can't express how much i am happy to see your post , it is being so long that i see your any post i was so worried about you.
What is that NSAIDS. Do you also have muscles and bone pain ?.
I also notice since few months that when i play badminton which is the only sport i am playing these days 1/week .Even less then one game which 10 points my leg bones and arms are hurting lot that i have to stop and wait for some time to hold the pain.
Is this common in Hashimotos ?. My level went up little bit so my dose is adjusted again from 75mcg to 88mcg .

I just search  that Ankylosing Spondylitis , it seems like related to spinal or back pain but i don't have back pain just muscles and joint pain which is getting worst day by day , do you think that can be related ?.

They cannot just go by bloodtest on this situation you will need a total bone scan and xrays with the sacrioliac joint and lumbar both. This is a autoimmune problem as well as the Hashis, it is a attack on the body in my understanding which is like the immune system is not turning off and I beleive it does effect the thyroid as well because it is all affiliated to the immune system. A infection or something Enviromental can set it all in, the white tounge swelled well that is inflamation (inflammation) in the mouth. Glad you are happy to hear from me and sorry I was gone so long but I felt like I was dwelling on the thyroid thing to much for awhile and I had that feeling it wasnt my main problem. Tina

Thanks for your response and continue giving me moral support. What could be the infection that can trigger those autoimmune condition. I don't have inflammation in my mouth but certainly have white tongue /very dry mouth very often . I am really stress out when i search autoimmunity in google. It looks like my problem is not thyroid either it is all just something else cooking which doctors can't figure out . I don't know i am extremely tired with this kind of feeling every day and also lack exercise which i really want to do but due to horrible muscles and joint pain i had to stop it within less then 15 mins.
I am loosing hope in my life every day .

Any infection can trigger it. If your tounge isnt swelled then that may be just dry mouth from meds.

Hello guys. I am Bhushan Ghate. I am from Nagpur, MS, India. I am suffering from ankylosing spondylitis since 1989. I am bedridden since 1996. But from few days i am able to walk with the help of walker. My bone density is too low. My doctor said that my bone density match to the bone density of 100-105 year old person. I am ankylose from neck to knee. That means i am having  bamboo spine & my complete hip & both knees are ankylose. I had to undergo complete hip & both knee replacement surgery. But because of low bone density & my ankylosing spondilitis is still active, doctor has said no to replacement. Hope may be in future it will be possible. I want to meet & know people who are suffering from any type of arthritis or spondylitis. Also want to share my experince with thoes people who are intrested in arthritis or spondylitis.
