My new doctor is truly awesome. He listened to what I had to say, and I actually educated him about a few things which he was open to! I switched to Synthroid instead of the generic levo, and upped my dose to 125 mcg. He suffers with anxiety also, and prescribed a small dose of xanax and wants me to try paxil. I'll retest in a month and see where I am. Thank you for your help. :)
Yes, I think your doctor will have no problem increasing your meds.
Your FT4 is still very low. It should be closer to midpoint (1.3 on your range). FT3 is also quite low, but I'd wait to see if that improves with an increase in your meds.
Good luck with your new doctor...hope you like him.
Thank you for answering!
The range they use for T4 is 0.82-1.77 mine: 0.96
The range for T3 is 2.0-4.4 mine: 2.4
I feel pretty crummy this last week, which is why I had the labs done.
I get anxiety, I'm exhausted and my throat feels constricted.
For sure I will get my levo dosage increased tomorrow when I have a doctor's appointment with a new doctor.
Sorry, lost that oh-so-important "O":
When TSH is high, it means you're probably hypO, and when it's low, hyper.
TSH works just the opposite of FT3 and FT4. When TSH is high, it means you're probably hyp, and when it's low, hyper. FT3 and FT4 are low when hypo and high when hyper.
Yes, that is T3.
Elevated TPOab indicates that you have autoimmune thyroid disease, probably Hashimoto's thyroiditis, a disease in which your immune system sees your thyroid as foreign tissue and attacks it.
Your FT3 and FT4 are "in range", but they are way too low in range. Many of us find that FT4 has to be midpoint of range and FT3 upper half of range before symptoms are relieved.
How do you feel?
