hello all ,
I recently had some blood which included thyroid tests.my doctor is away an will not be back for 2 weeks. I don't really understand the results, If someone can please give me some insight that would be great! test results states,
thy perox AB- 3.17 normal range 1.20
thryroglob AB - 2.1 normal range 1.0
from looking at the reference range, it looks like mine are slightly higher. & i have also heard slightly higher then normal range can still be considered normal to a primary doctor. is this true.
thanks, cindy
Abnormal TSH diagnoses hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, along with the FTs which relates thyroid status or in some cases
non-thyroid illnesses. If there is a normal TSH with two test to rule out a fluke or error and still an abnormal FT-4, perhaps something else is going on. Or Lab error. However, both FTs need to be tested with the TSH.
However, I am not a doctor.
That is not true at all a normal TSH doesn't mean your not either. My TSH level reads normal with meds but my T4 level is still really low....I am Hypo with a T4 receptor issue. Ask your dr.
If your TSH is normal, indicates neither hyperthyroid nor hypothyroid.
