Hello,
About 2 months ago my hair dresser realized 2 bald spots when doing my hair. I went to a dermotologist who diagnosed me with Alopecia Areata. Since then I have been receiving cortizone shots to stimulate the hair growth, but now two spots turned into about 7 spots. She recently took my blood again and my Free T4 is 0.8 and my TSH 3rd Generation is 0.41. Does this validate as hypo? I'm 33 yrs old have 2 children weight about 140lbs. I have been trying to loose 10 pounds and its been a little harder these days but I attributed it to being older...I appreciate your help. thanks

A TSH of 0.41 is on the low end of normal- definately not hypo. What is the reference range for free t4?
I had alopecia areata in high school. 3 or 4 bald spots. Grew back w/in a year, I think. Very traumatic. It is an autoimmune illness.
