Lab test

I keep hearing you all say the Free T3 is really important to have.  I have  never had that tested before.   And here I have my Lab sheet for my next blood draw and there is not even a Free T3 on this sheet.  And this is from my endo's office.  So any how I'm going to my PC on Tue do I just as her if she will run everything , A Free T3, TSH, Free T4, T3, T4 and The test for the Anti- bodies because I have not had that done in 3 years.  And I was so new to this at that time I did not even ask to see any of that.  Have I forgot any thing important?

It is usually the 25 OH Vitamin D level that is measured.

The 1,25 di OH is not often measured, though it is a good idea. The 1,25 di OH is the active form.

Most docs will order the 25 OH test.

Ask for a vitamin D test if you haven't had one.
I think it's called a D-25 test.

vitamin D, 1,25-dihydroxy is how it is listed on my test.

Ask for a TSH, A Free T4 ,and a Free T3. Skip the Total T4 and Total T3 tests. They are not so good.

If you want your antibodies checked, ask for a Thyroid Peroxidase antibody test (TPOab), an antithyroglobulin antibody test (TGab), and a TSI test, if you think Grave's may be involved. TSI is thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulin, and is found in Grave's patients.

I agree I would have you PC run everything and then send copies to endo. Yes I would also have your Ferritin, B12 and Calcium checked if it has been a while along with the thyroid test you have listed.....TSH, Free T3 and Free T4....possibly antibody tests again to see where you stand.
