Latte w/ Levoxyl?

My Levoxyl doesn't seem to be helping much right now and it was recently adjusted.  I take it in the morning, but I also
have a latte within 30 min. or so.  I know I'm supposed to take it on empty stomach, but... an hour is a long time to wait to have my morning coffee.  Any ideas? Thoughts?

Thanks

I've read that taking the thyroxine the same way every day is the important thing. so if you have always had a latte 30 minutes after you take it it should be fine. some people take it with food from right from the start....the important thing is to do thing , the same way daily, so if you decide to take it on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning and wait an hour to eat, then you must do that every day......same goes for deciding to take it with food, just don't CHANGE the routine. I take mine with black coffee every morning, and wait at least an hour to eat. that doesn't mean i haven't had to have my dosage raised, but the raises are not from how i take it :)

I have my Thyroxin with a glass of water then another coffee half an hour later.
Works ok for me....as I am super dooper drug sensitive.
Seems like the thyroxin works straight away with me as in the early days of taking it after RAI when I was hypo...it was like I needed a ' thyroxin fix'.
I couldnt get it fast enough in the morning.
Now that so-called 'fix' doesnt have me craving for it as my levels are stable.

Some take it early morning, some take it at night.
I have tried both but found the nightime dose leaves me with horrific nightmares so I went back to taking it an hour after taking my heart med.
Do I have an instant coffee in between the heart med and thyroxin?

Yes.

But I leave a good hour in between both.
I take the heart med at 5.30am, have an instant nescafe coffee, then take the thyroxin at 6.30am with no food or drink for an hour afterwards.
I know its not supposed to be done this way but my levels have never suffered because of it due to me having high drug sensitivity.

I think consistancy is the key.
Same time, same routine, Every day.

I just happend to get a neck x-ray to find out I have a growth on my thyroid. My Dr. said the stats were fine all this time.  I asked him about my R ear always hurting and jaw and he said that had NOTHING to do with this growth. I probably grind my teeth at night. But I just read that other people have had the same problem! Does anyone have a good answer to why the ear hurts?

You really are going to have to wait. There is no other way around it. I hate it when I get up late and am hungry but have to wait. If you don;t then you may go hypo then need more meds...which is a vicious circle.  It is in your best interest to wait that hour. I do some housework or go on the computer or have a shower to fill in the time between taking it and having my brekky.
Having it with liquid is not normally a problem. but the latte has milk in it which is classified as food, so the thryoxine will bind to it and go out of your system too fast.
Sadly this is the price we have to pay!
