Levothyroxine dosage too high? Symptoms?

by bncrump, Jun 09, 2008 10:27AM
About 7 weeks ago, I found out that my TSH was 202 (4.5 months after delivering my 2nd child by c-section). My endo started me on 125mcg of Levothyroxine. I haven't had my levels rechecked since then. For the last 3 days, I have had tingling on the right side of my head and a headache. Just this morning, I got dizzy and almost passed out. I am nauseous and lightheaded. Could this be from my medication dosage being too high and my levels going down? I sent my dr an email message and I am waiting for a reply. I really don't feel well and I don't know if it is something that I should go to the ER for OR if it's something related to the medication.

Any input would be much appreciated! Please and thank you!!!!!

It is unimagineable that a dr would not keep a check on someones levels, especially after their first round with the thyroid med.

Do you have a primary physician you could call and go in and see today? Your levels need to be checked.

If you have someone to drive you since you are being dizzy, because the endo will not work you in. It has been my experience that an emergancy appt is 5 months ahead.

I am waiting for both my primary dr to email me back. They have a great messaging system. I also put an email into the endo...no response from either yet. If I don't hear anything soon, I'll call and see if they can get me in for bloodwork at least today.

I know it's crazy...you would think that they would have checked it a while ago. I am feeling better now than I did this morning but I am worried that when I go outside in this 100 degree weather that I might not be so good :(.

Thanks for responding!
