List of symptoms, can you give me a direction?

I'm guessing I have some sort of hormonal imbalance.  My doctors only want to alleviate my symptoms, rather than find out what's wrong with me.  Can you give me some ideas as to what I tests I should request?
I'm 22, 5 feet tall, and 160 pounds.

I'm currently experiencing:
-irregular periods.  A few years ago, I went an entire year without a period.  Right now I'm 16 days late.

-weight gain.  Gaining belly weight, though I've always been hourglass shaped and I've been eating lots of fruits,    veggies, and fiber (I'm aware that fiber bloats, I watch the intake).  My belly is abnormally large for my body and can protrude a way that looks distorted

-Bloating is a problem.  I feel perpetually full and my stomach never feels relaxed.

-oily face/breaking out on forehead, whereas I sometimes have perfectly clear, non-oily skin.

-hair growth.  I've always been abnormally hairy for a girl.  Have a few dark hairs sprouting on odd places, like cheeks.

-Bad ulcer-like burning pain/hunger-like aching.  I get a pain that makes me get out of bed to eat, just to ease it.  Will feel that pain a few times a day

-Frequent urination.

-hump on back of neck that I would call a buffalo hump, though my doctor says I don't have the moon face of a cushing's patient

Can you guide me in a direction as to what you think may be wrong?
Thanks.
Britney

I really commend you for being able to go into such detail on how you feel and what things are happening.

I agree with Sally - get to a specialist on female hormones- that understands the whole system and get tested for PCOS.

Your right - there has to be a reason why this is happening - and not to just treat symptoms.

Hi,

reckon  you should see an endocrinologist.  Immediate possibilities that spring to mind are PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome - assoicated with insulin resistance and higher risk of diabetes). You should have a proper endocrine workup covering female hormones, diabetes workup, and thyroid. Then they could take it from there.

Best wishes

It could well be hormonal problems, either thyroid or female hormones or both, as they impact on each other. Has your doc run any bloods on you? If so what were the results? If he's not ask for a full profile to be taken.
