And bcz they found the small cancers in the thyroid, the dermatologist poked around so much with that darn cyst incision to be certain there was nothing hiding (and it was  very close to my esophagus so there went the Dr's theory of it was just tight from surgery when I complained it was tight to swallow ha ha!!!) I ended up on Percoset for 3 days when I needed nothing for the thyroid surgery other than the first 12hrs in the hospital.

I hope your path is clean .......... and on your episiotomy and that hematoma .. OUCHIES!!!!!!!  My first baby broke my tailbone and I had a Grade IIII episiotomy .. It was worse than a C-Section and the pain was beyond belief .. the only good news was that baby #2 didn't need one and Baby #3 they recut on OLD SCAR TISSUE so not too bad to heal and Baby #4 was emergency C-Section as he was Transverse across my belly like a log and I went into full blown labor at 6cm w/o a contraction from 4-6cm's!!!  It was too late to turn him and I opted for the C Section anyway as nature wanted him out 16days early and 7lbs 12oz!~

Keep us posted!

My post op with the surgeon is next Wednesday, Jan. 2 and then I see my endocrinologist on Friday, Jan. 4th. My surgery was on Dec. 21st so I'm gonna be right at about 2 weeks.  Hopefully my path reports will be clean and I can go back on the Levoxyl by next Friday.  I'm doubting that will happen but I can dream.  My doctor did tell me that I'd feel okay for about 2 or so weeks and then it would go down from there. I'm hoping I have tons stored up so I don't start feeling badly. I remember how it felt before I was diagosed with hypothyroidism, tired all the time, hair and nails all dry and just generally felt like ****. Started the meds and felt like a new woman. I don't want to feel like that again, it wasn't fun.  I guess I'm glad they just took my whole thyroid out, now I don't have to worry if something is working or not since there is nothing there. That is awful about your cyst, very scary. Something similar happened to me when I had my daughter. I developed a hematoma in my episiotomy incision that had to be lanced and packed and we will not talk about the pain THAT involved! Having a baby was nothing compared to that. Secondary infections always are horrible. Sorry you had to go through that. I can't imagine having to back and have someone touch my throat right now. I would not be happy.

Right now your body is working off stores in your system ...... in about 2 weeks that changes ...... when is your appt?  It was at the 2.5week mark they realized my other side wasn't working after the surgery.

So glad it went so well for you .. mine wasn't bad except I had a secondary problem right above the incision .. a cyst nobody knew I had deep inside burst and the infection spread to the incision and I had to have a secondary surgery (outpatient) to remove a 1.5cm growth 1/4" above the thyroid ... can you believe it?  They didn't know if it was cancer or what it was and turned out 12 very long days later to be an infectious granuloma from a cyst that burst during the surgery most likely!!

Hi there.  I'm feeling pretty well for the most part. The last remnants of the sore throat are finally going away.  Still no appetite though and a little lingering nausea.  I'm noticing that nothing really tastes too good right now and I'm very sensitive to smell. Other than that, I'm great!  Pondering going for a run today to see if I can swing it.  I was very lucky I think in that I've had no bruising or swelling at all.  I'm very thin with red hair and freckles and was told to expect LOTS of swelling so to have none is awesome.  Haven't taken the bandage off yet to see my pretty scar but it's a small bandage so I'm optimistic that it won't be horrible. I can take it off on Saturday and I'm looking forward to it. All and all this whole surgery was much less traumatic that I had made it out to be in my head. If I didn't have the sore throat from that breathing tube I would have been perfectly fine.  I am starting to feel the effects of being off my Levoxyl and having no thyroid though. Starting to get that foggy headache and feeling a bit sluggish. How do you live without a thyroid gland and no meds? How does your body burn calories?  This whole thing has me fascinated.  I see my doc next wednesday for the pathology results and hopefully I can move on with life.  I'm going to think positive!  Thanks so much for asking about me.
