Low Tsh

Had total thyroidectomy in 1993 due to papillary cancer. I'm taking an unusually low dose of levothyroxine and labs just indicated tsh is too low reduce meds to 88mcg. Why do I require so little?  Could it be because I'm taking generic and not brand. Dr ordered more test to check t4 an t3?

I have slight sleeping problems. Don't take any other meds, but have noticed more of a decline since my hysterectomy. My last scan was negative, did not detect any tissue what so ever following surgery. I'm not worried just thought it was kind of strange. I once had an endo put me on 2 different doses(take on alternating days) because he could not get me leveled out. I tend to be all over the place but was told generic can sometimes do that . Did not seem to make a difference when I was taking brand. Thanks for the info

I had a TT back in 1994. For 10yrs I was on 200mcg levothyroxine and then for some reason my TSH started getting low. Over the last 3yrs my dosage has been lowered. I did the 200mcg, 175mcg, 150mcg and 125mcg, then 100mcg, but the TSH went well over 5.0 on 100mcg so they put me back at 125mcg. I have been on 125mcg for the past 2yrs. My last TSH was .67.

I was checked for tissue regrowth (it does happen), but they finally told me that as we age the hormones in our body change hence the level change on the TSH.

Make sure you are not taking anything else that may alter the TSH, any other medication, Vitamins that could possible alter the level. But make sure you are checked for regrowth.

Do you have any hyper symptoms.
