Low iodine pre-scan diet

Lots of info on the dos and donts of a pre-scan diet are confusing. Some say no strawberries---no bananas and no pineapple---some say these are alright. I just read on the Sloan-Kettering site that English Muffins are ok---but the ingredients list salt. Anyone have experience with these examples?

If I were you I would talk to the person doing your scan.

The low iodine diet is to start radioactive iodine. If that's the case no pineapple. It's on the list I got that is not acceptable. Strawberries are ok tho, bananas were not on the list either.

Is this a scan for your thyroid? I took a scan for my thyroid many years ago for graves...I was not told anything about what and what not to eat.

Never heard of a pre-scan diet.

I was going to ask the same question because I need the diet too. Didn't the place giving the scan give you a list? I have an appointment tomorrow with nuclear medicine. I will see if they give me a list or not and comment back.
