Lump in throat post total thryoidectomy

by Rozier, Oct 05, 2006 12:00AM
Has anyone experienced a feeling that there was a lump in their throat after a total thryoidectomy? Also, I weight approximately 133 lbs. I am currently taking 75 mcg of Levothryoxine. The MD may even lower this dose based on a recent TSH. MD says it is unusual for someone my size to be on such a low dose. The only explanation he can give is to say that apparently I don't need much thryoid replacement. Seems odd to me. I am thinking about asking for a ultrasound.
I have also felt since surgery which was about 10 weeks ago that my neck feels tight and like it is pulling and stretching when I swallow. Has anyone experienced this? I was just wondering if this was part of the healing process. I would appreciate any advice you can give.
