Just a quick question. I was recently put on Synthroid 50 mcg to 75 mcg and 6 days ago to .88 mcg after 40 years on ArmourArmour thyroid. I started having a lot of problems with the ArmourArmour thyroid - severe heart palpitationsHeart palpitations, etc. Anyway, I think I have had a variety of side effects during the last month since I started Synthroid and just wanted to ask others if they have experienced any of these - from the start I had sleeping problems - waking up all the time, light sleep. After a while, that seemed to get better until I was increased to .88 and it started again. Also the last few days I have had muscles aching and today particularly in my legs. Does this pass as your body adjusts to medication. The doctors office said it will take 21-28 days for me to know how I will feel on this dosage. But, I am hoping the side effects subside.
Any insight?
It may also be that during the transition from Armour to Synthroid you went hypo for a while, and you are feeling the effects of that. That wouldn't explain the insomnia, but sometimes hyper symptoms show up when you are expecting hypo symptoms.
I'd give it a couple of months and if things do not improve, ask to try another brand. Synthroid has lactose as one of the fillers, and it may be the fillers that are giving you problems. Different brands use different fillers.
Good luck, and I hope you find the right drug to set you straight again.
