Med dose

I am hypothyroid and was originaly on levothyroxine as a kid and up until about a year ago. Due to side effects I asked to be switched to Armour at my bosses suggestion. I was put on 60mg Armour. When I switched Dr. he put me on 150mcg levo (60mg armour=100mcg levo) so he raised it by 50%. I started having heart palps and dizzy. I asked to be put back on armour and he switched straight back to it. 150mg armour. thats almost double the dose that was already too much. he says it's to 'boost my levels' i feel horrible! dizzy, headaches, heart palps every day, double vision. i consulted another dr that talked with the first and backed him so he wouldn't get in trouble. what do i do?

Sounds like it is not an issue of which type of replacement hormone you are on, but rather how much you are on. You sound like you are now hyperthyroid.
Without any blood tests it is difficult to say that is for sure.
What sort of side effects were you having on the Levo? Are you sure that perhaps as you are now older, you have actually needed a different dose?
I would suggest you go get some blood tests done immediately to see what your levels are right now...and as you are feeling so bad with the higher dose, drop down to your previous dose and then see how you feel?
I am more really wondering why your doctor put you on both, but I guess that is something only they can answer.
If you started getting side effects as you say previously, I would think it was, as I said, more that you needed a higher or lower dose of your previous medication.
