Meds close to expiration causing challenges

Anyone ever had their meds start weakening as they neared their expiration date?  I had bottle of Armour that the pharmacist said were good until 4/11 but "don't worry a bit, because even though they are considered "expired", they are good for a year after that."

I continued to have challenges along the way as April approached, never putting two and two together that it may in fact be the pills.  I had a serious challenges with a hard T3 crash occuring regularly that I just couldn't seem to counter balance, even when I split my dose throughout the day, tried a sublingual method, etc.  It always seemed like the pills just weren't doing their job even though the thought never occured to me that it may be the pills themselves.  Finally, I decided to run it by my pharmacist again and he reaffirmed that they were good for another year (he is a super guy, so he was not trying to be difficult or anything).  He did, however, order me a brand new bottle of them directly from the manufacturer.  Ok, can you say night and day?  It is amazing how much better I feel less than a week of being on the new ones.

Has anyone ever had this happen?  Just FYI for others to be aware of this in case they run into a similar situation; watch your expiration date and know that they in fact may NOT be good for another year, or perhaps not even another day.

He didn't actually sell it after the expiration date; I bought several months worth at a time knowing that 4/11 was the exp date.  I knew I would be needing more about this time anyways.  I agree with you regarding a synthetic vs dessicated med.  To say that "meds are good for a year after their exp date" is about as broad of a statement as you can make.  I know this; I will always have whomever I buy these from in the future order me a brand new bottle each time.  I have two months worth now and feel confident that I am good to go for both months.  Seriously, a truly miraculous discovery here and how much better I feel is amazing.  Psychologically, it is a huge relief too, since I could not figure out why I seemed to be one of the few who was always having such serious effects after about seven hours into the med, even if I split dose.  Thnx!

I would question the fact that the pharmacist chose to ignore an expiration date, I don't think they just pull expiration dates out of the air, thet are there for a reason, it is not legal to sell a medication beyond an expiration date, I don't know why you would be advised to ingest one and have it be effective? He may be confusing a synthetic with a desicated medication, it could be synthetics have a longer shel life, but I would not use any that are expired, even over the counter meds. Best Regards FTB4
