Hi - I have had two early miscarriages at 5 weeks in the last 3 months. I had m/c testing done and the only thing that showed up is that my antithyroid antibodies were abnormal. My TPO is 467 and my thyroglobulin is 695. It shows that my thyroid was functioning fine. My Thyroid (TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh) was 3.13 in May and it was 2.28 in July. But I have read that it is best to be lower than 2 in pregnancy. I don't have any symptoms of hypo or hyperHyper-sal thyroid.
Also, I am wondering if I should take thyroid medicine to help combat the antibodies. My doctor just said to come in when I get pregnant and they will give me prednisonePrednisone Prednisone anhydrous if my levels are high. I am worried that this is not proactive enough.
Does anyone have any advice or information on this? Thanks so much!
thyroid hormones won't help your antibodies, unfortunately. there is nothing that will change their levels (well, nothing chemical and medicine-related, at least. time will do a fine job of changing them, but not for the better, unfortunately!)
i have also heard thyroid problems can mess with your reproductivity. i'm so sorry you lost both of your babies so early. i have no advice to offer other than to suggest you remain very open and vocal with your endo and your obgyn. good luck and i hope third time's a charm!
i too have hashi's and i am a bit scared for my future reproductivity as well. i feel for you in this situation, womanWomen's way to womanWomen's way.
