I am going to cutCuts and puncture wounds and paste other reply from your previous post because I can't read the whole page. The sentences are cutting in half. So, I have to keep question short, and then reply to this post! Let's see if this works!
I am so sorry, I just on a whim checked teh forum before walking out teh door. I haven't been home, because I took my Dad to teh ER Friday night (chest pains), and was there with him all weekend. I brought him home yesterday, and am trying to catch up! BTW he's absolutley fine, his angioplastyAngioplasty Coronary artery balloon angioplasty - series went smoothly, and he is finally ready to start taking some of my nutirtion advice!!!
Now me! Well, through all of my research and tests I have been diagnosed with a multiMulti symptom cough and cold Multi vita bets and fluoride and iron Multi-betic Multi-day Multi-day plus minerals Multi-day with calcium and extra iron Multi-day with iron Multi-delyn Multi-delyn with iron Multi-symptom nighttime-nodular thyroid. It was very small, and could barely be felt. But nevertheless I had it been told it was mild for 3 years. Anyhow, after researching Iodine deficiency causing goiterChronic thyroiditis (hashimoto’s disease) Goiter Graves disease Toxic nodular goiter or nodules, I took an Iodine deficiency test and found out I am in fact Iodine deficient (even though EVERY doctor said no way I could be!) So, I just spoke with Dr Flechas (you can look up his website at www.helpmythyroid.com) and asked him his success rate with shrinking nodules and he said Dr Abrahams, Dr Brownstein, and himself have seen almost all nodules shrink and even most go away with these Iodine supplements. So, the funny thing though is, once I started reading about Iodine deficiency, I got rid of my uniodized salt, started using iodized salt, started taking a multiMulti symptom cough and cold Multi vita bets and fluoride and iron Multi-betic Multi-day Multi-day plus minerals Multi-day with calcium and extra iron Multi-day with iron Multi-delyn Multi-delyn with iron Multi-symptom nighttime-vitamin with teh largest amount of Iodine in it (250 mcg's) and started eating more foods with Iodine in them. In particular a seaweed soup (my own version) that Asian womenWomen's way have been making for years and eating while pregnant. So, I naturally increased my intake while waiting for results, an Dr's appointments. So, my intake has raised considerably in teh last 6 weeks, and just 3 days ago, I decided to look in teh mirror to see if I could see it again while swallowing (my new Dr showed me how I could see it), and it wasn't there!!!!!! YIPEE!!!!!!! Now then, I believe it has shrunk based on this rather uunscientific finding, and actaully want another ultra-sound to use as a baseline before supplementing any higher. Now it just so happens that I couldn't even get into see an Endo until March 29th, so I am way curious to see tomorrow if he can even feel it, and I just might get another ultrasouond if he thinks it oo has gone away or shrunk! So, I am very excited about all of this!!! Also, Dr Flechas shrunk his own goiter, and cured himself of hypothyroid without thyroid meds! He used to be severly hypothyroid, and takes 50 mg's of Iodoral a day, and is fine. All of his thyroid tests are great in normal ranges, and have been leveled off and great for over a year now!
So for you, I would recommend checking out his website, and testing for the deficiency first, and then you can get a phone consult with him, and see what steps you should take next. I hope this helps you, and that you haven't given up checking the posts for a reply from me!
Take care & I wish you all the best!!! If you have anymore questions just let me know!
thanks so much for getting back to be, I don't want surgery. I am seeing an accupunturist tomorrow and i'll see what he says, This DR was too quick to want to take it out. I have another apt with him and if it comes to it that's what it will be
Did you say you have a DRS appt tomorrow?? I'll be curious to hear about it. Good luck and I'll let you know what's going on.
Thanks for getting to me, I have a multi cystic thyroid that is large, could it be a iodine deficency?? I haven't used salt in years and don't use processed foods,my blood is normal so i am not hyper or hypo. I just noticed it in January and went righ to the DR and now it is driving me crazy. any suggestions
I would order the test tomorrow from Dr Flechas' office. It is teh only test out there for it,, and there are only like 4 or 5 labs that do it. Then you will know if you are deficient are not. I am including a website that tells you about the test, and pay careful attention to "TABLE 1" and see if you fit into any of those other health issues! That would also be an indication. Total cost for teh test (including a consultation with teh Dr) is about $100. including shipping.
I hope this helps...I too was told by Dr's and many people that nodules and goiters don't go away, don't believe them!!!! The Doctors information they have is based on what they have read and what they have used, no one has been using Iodine to get rid of them until recently, and it works!!!!!!! Even Utah's comment about the woman and canned shrimp, shrimp have Iodine in them...huh?!
Good luck, and keep me posted, and of course if there are any other questions, just ask!
Here's the reply...sorry for typos!!! Gotta run!
