Mouth Ucler and headache and joint pain

by rohit_786, Jul 02, 2008 10:27AM
My doctor change by dose from 88mcg to alternate days 88mcg and 100mcg so all together i am basically taking 94mcg/day.My TSH was 1.74 and FT4 was 1.8 before the dose was adjusted.
I started feel better in the begining but now after 25 days i am having headaches/joint pains, Mouth ucler inside my mouth twice infact still have one. Also in the night my hands get numb.
My doctor ran vit D test as well and my Total Vit D is 27 , reference range (0.26--80). Do you guys think my symptoms coud be because of Vit D deficiency as the optimum number is around 45-50 or could be because of dose change.
I had joint pain even before dose change and have difficulty doing physical work.

As low as your vitamin D is, you should get some vitamin D3 and take 1,000IU per day.
Your vitamin D test is split into two parts. D2, and D3. D3 is always the low one, it seems. Anyway, they add the two results together to get your test score. Your test score is LOW.

I don't know if the vitamin D3 will help with the mouth sores. I know in the last week or two a few people have talked about mouth ulcers or sores, but I'm not sure what causes them.

Sorry your question got missed the first time around, rohit. Hopefully someone with an answer will see it and help you.

D3 18
Total D= 24 ( 26-80)

I have been taking Vitamin D2 and D3 about 2000IU /day for last 2 months but instead it increase the number  it went other way . I had Total Vitamin D 27 and now 24.
Is mouth ucler and canker soar related to thyroid also or autoimmunity ?

Mouth sores can be related to Celiac auto immune disease. I had one the other day on my tongue it hurt forever and I usually don't get them but I have Hashi's and Celiac so I believe it was from the Celiac.

Interesting about the Vitamin D, i have been off it for a long time with all the other stuff i am taking and have had the achiness and joint pain. I started taking it on my own a week or so ago and I am feeling so much better. I only have a little hip pain now but no more muscle aches. Maybe that's what the problem was.

My doctor has tested Celiac in March and it was normal . As said my mouth sores are not very bad it shows occasionally but canker soars in my mouth also shows as well which are not pain full at all so could be not canker soar. Can you tell what brand of Vitamin D you are taking /. I need to take 50,000IU Vitamin D but what bran should i be using .
