what is the correct dose of synthroid for a tsh of 2.3, down from 2.4. ? I was on .88 and now they want to decrease the dosage instead of increase it. Is that right?

Do you have FREE T3 and FREE T4 tet results?  If so, please post them with their reference ranges which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.

There is no reason to decrease your dose when your TSH went down to 2.3 from 2.4.  Perhaps they ran other tests that indicated you might be overmedicated?

How do you feel?  Do you have either hypo or hyper symptoms?
