My Current TSH Levels

by MarineSSgt, Oct 26, 2009 02:46PM
Just curious if anyone can tell me if these results are good or bad.

Thyroxine Free was .87
Thyrotropin Sensitive was 4.82

Not to sure but my doctor says I am Hypo.  Just curious if anyone can chime in and let me know what they think.

Thanks!

Your FT4 is hypo. My military hospital lab used .9-1.7 as the 'normal' range.

I honestly don't know what Thyrotopin Sensitive is? TSH? I thought that was called Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. Anyway, if it is the TSH, then that is in the hypo range as well. Good doctors look at anything over 2.0 as hypo.

The doc should run the TGab and TPOab tests plus an ultrasound to determine if Hashimoto's is the cause.

You should also get your FreeT3 hormone checked. That is the active thyroid hormone.

How do you feel?

Are you on thyroid meds? I hope so.

Well I always feel run down plus I have very high cholestoral and blood pressure and I am on zocor and bp meds.  I have also gained a lot of weight the past three years. I was 160 lbs three years ago now I am over 250lbs and I really havent changed my workout plan. I have cut down on my food intake for the simple fact I am so tired of gaining weight. I go in this thursday to see an internal medician specialist.  I will see what his plan is and if he is just going to put me on synthroid without doing the tests I will throw in the red flag because I know that if I start to take this med and i am not hypo it will really mess me up right?  Well I have another post on here look it up and it tells alot more about my situation.  Thanks a million tamra.
