You have hyperaldosteronism, because you have high blood pressure and high aldosterone. You may also have low potassium.
Did you already have the CT scan - and it was normal? With CT scan they want to see if there is a benign tumor (adenoma or hyperplasia) in your adrenal gland. An adenoma which originates from the outer adrenal cortex can secrete excess aldosterone. Rarely an aldosterone-secreting ademoma can be elsewhere in your abdomen. Aldosterone is an important hormone to regulate, in a complex system (renine-angiotensin-aldosterone system), the level of sodium ions in blood, and water content, blood pressure and blood volume.
You seem to have different units and reference ranges for aldosterone (than we here). Some medications and stress among others affect aldosterone testing. If you have no aldosterone-secreting tumor, which could be taken off, then some medication can be tested to decrease aldosterone. Heart and kidney function should also be examined.
The message I received from my Endocrinologist was below 6 was normal.I'm on Metforman for Type 2, Thyroid meds,
My Blood pressure with 3 meds was running 168/94. She ran a number of blood test and the Aldrosterone was abnormally high 135. She changed my BP meds for 6 weeks, b/p is 108/86. 2nd blood test. Aldrosterone still high. Ct scan Monday, all normal.
Your urine aldosterone is normal (here reference <40). Serum aldosterone test can be at rest or exercise. These have slightly different refrence ranges: rest 30-320 pmol/l, exercise 50-530. The references may vary between laboratories.
Have you symptoms of hyperaldosteronism? Renin is also good to be measured in connection with aldosterone.
