OK - I am going to read this better when I get home from work. I am going to bump the post back up to the top so I can find it better when I log on tonight. You have gone into great detail here and I really want to take more time reading it throughly.

Thanks for contributing your whole story. I hope a few more members can post on here too.

I dont think  the speckles on taoilet paper or blood in stool one time had anything to do with my other issues, other than the fact  i have frequent bowell movements.

I dont have blood speckles anymore.

Before I get started my known problems before all of this were the following…

1.  Slight Scoliosis
2. Mild asthma

My name is Daniel, I am 20 years old now and I am desperately trying to find a reason/cure for my health problems.  About a year ago I was skateboarding very frequently my only symptoms were some back pain and frequent urination but nothing I was too scared over. In the last year I have gone from skateboarding regularly to barely being able to tolerate jumping a couple times without my body going crazy, Here is my story…

About 2 years ago I weighed about 195 or so, and I was living with my mom, I definatly had problems overeating. I moved in with my dad and step mom who are very health minded for about a year. I still ate kinda crappy but ate better than I did before. About 11 months later I had dropped about 25 pounds.

About 11 months ago or so I was living at my dads house, During this time I had frequent urination issues and tingling in my hands and feet. I was checked for diabetes and they said I didn’t have it OR pre diabetes. Later, I decided to move back in with my mom. Shortly before this I had moved a VERY heavy lawn mower and when I moved back in with my mom I moved a very heavy mattress…Not sure if this has anything to do with my issues.

I think everything really “started.” On Easter day, here’s the events of that day…

I got up and went to breakfast with my dads side of the family.
I ate eggs, bacon and toast. Then we were supposed to go visit with some relatives. They dropped me off at my moms house because we weren’t due over there for a couple hours. I started feeling kinda sick and very out of breath… I just rested and tried to ignore it.

Soon after… About 10 months ago I was watching Harry Potter and eating a subway sandwich, suddenly I couldn’t breathe very well, I got scared and told my mom I think I needed medical attention so we drove down to a walk in clinic down the street, they said I was fine and that I was hyperventilating…Im like okay I guess that makes since my grandma has hyperventilation issues…But she’s in her 80’s. They sent me home…Shortly after..,”I don’t remember how long, probably a few days.”  I was doing whatever at my house and all of the sudden I felt my chest get tight, then my arm felt heavy and I felt shortness of breath…I told my mom I really thought I needed to go to the ER for the first time in my life that’s how seriouse I thought it was. I go there they do an EKG and they say everything’s fine but I need to calm down because my heart is beating super fast. Im thinking…Okay I cant really control that, its just doing it. But maybe I’m just scared…

The same thing happens again probably  a few days later…Once again I go to the ER determined they will find something…They say the same things, You probably just have anxiety. Im all thinking I KNOW what anxiety feels like and this isn’t it.
So I have a couple more of these “attacks.” But I just ignore them as scary as they are. I just figured Id have to pass out or something for doctors to really evaluate me. Suddenly soon after that I started burping allot and hiccupping allot, determined to find out what was wrong with me I started researching online, hours later I stumbled across this thing called a “hiatal hernia.” It fit my symptoms perfectly and said it can mimic a heart attack, So I went to my primary care doctor and demanded to be checked for one. She said she thought it was VERY unlikely that I have one but agreed to let me get checked. I do the barium test and sure enough I have what they say is a “small” hiatal hernia. Im like okkkaaayyy…so they give me antacids and I should be fine even though I wasn’t sure if the problems I was having are acid related. I was curious so I did more research on the hiatal hernia, It said a small hernia usually causes no symptoms…I figured since I have a slouching problem it effected me more than most because if your slouching I would guess your stomach and esophagus would be more “compressed.”
I did start to have some acid problems and the antacids did seem to help with those, and my burps and hiccups. but didn’t do anything for my other symptoms besides that.

At this time my symptoms were the following.

1.Fequent urination
2. Hiccups, burping
3. Tingling in my hands and feet.
4. Shortness of breath.
5. These Strange “attacks” that I just ignored until they went away.
6. Some back pain.
7. Heavy heart beat. What felt like heart palpitations.

Soon after all of this I started to get light headed ALLOT.
Here’s the best way I can think to describe it. Id be in a store and it didn’t even feel like I was really there, I felt slightly dizzy and my head just felt weird and light…but almost heavy at the same time…I just felt like I wasn’t really experiencing where I was…Its hard to explain.

At this time it seemed like I could still skate occasionally, some days I could last longer than other’s.
The most annoying thing I was experiencing was the heavy heartbeat issue. I could constantly feel my heartbeat in my temples. Sometimes it kept me up at night.

A couple months later my almost constant lightheadedness seemed to of gone away but a constant pain in the back of the head took its place. At this point even to this day I cant sit for long periods of time without the pressure in my head forcing me to lay down.
I sometimes have this tingling sensation in my scalp as well.

I started to make doctors appointments left and right.

I went to a cardiologist he said everything was normal.

I went to a urinary doctor and he said I did indeed have an inflamed prostate. Pretty rare for my age.

I went to a back and neck doctor and I was diagnosed with something called
“thoracic lordosis”
He said I was actually misdiagnosed with scoliosis when I was years back. He said he did not think it was causing my headaches though which is why I went in there in the first place.

I went to another cardiologist who said everything was normal as far as he could tell as well, I decided to stick with this one and use him as my primary doctor too because he seems very down to earth and caring. Instead of just saying YOUR FINE ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD. He excepts that there might be something else actually wrong.

As of current I have another appointment with him on the 4th.
I also did a treadmill test which came back normal.

A couple notes about my symptoms…

1. They seem to dramatically decrease when its cold outside.

2.  It seems like there is a connection between a hiatal hernia and heart palpitations although many docs say its impossible. CAN ANYONE SHED SOME LIGHT ON THIS?

My current symptoms are the following as of now…

1. Frequent urination
2. Heart palpitations heavy heartbeat.
3. Back of the skull pain and occasionally lightheadedness sometimes I randomly feel dizzy for a second.
4.tight right wrist. “could be because I play drums”
5. Im not sure what this is but when I stand up sometimes I get this “Warm flowing” sensation through my body then my heart will start beating fast and heavy and ill feel dizzy.
6. Shortness of breath.
7. Intolerance to exercise.
8. Burning sensation in  my stomach.
9. Frequent bowel movements on occasion.
10. Occasionally I will wipe and there is red speckles on the toilet paper, seems to happen after eating pizza.
11. One time I had a large bowel movement and there seemed to be some blood in my stool, but its only happened once so its probably okay.
12. Pains in the front of the neck that shoot up to behind the jaw and behind the ear.

This was me a couple years ago.

Now I feel horrible.
Somebody please help me!

Note: I’m not sure that the order of these events are exact, just close. Its hard to remember so much has happened.

Thank you so much for your reply.

It does seem like my neck is more infalmed on my right side.
But this isnt really close to my thyroid  its like below my ear leading down half of my neck or something. When i press lightly below my adams apple and above it i do have some pain. Nothing extreme though.

I agree with you about the prostate thing, thats why i think something else is causing my urination issue, this is the first symptom i had, probly started 2 years ago.

I think this stuff started after moving a heavy lawn mower and matress.
The lawn mower got caught on something while moving it into a car and i had to strain myself majorly to get it in.

Heres a background on all my issues i wrote a while back...

I forgot. You can also request a thyroid uptake scan and ultra sound on the thyroid too. That would be something to consider to see the condition of the gland.

Do you notice and discomfort in your neck? - like an enlargement or something bigger on one side?

You state a few common symptoms of hyperthyroid - but your lab - based off the TSH does not show that to be an issue.

If you are concerned that this is still a hperthyroid issue or maybe autoimmune Graves - you should talk to your doctor about testing more.

For autoimmune Graves hyperthyroid you can suggest a TSI antibody test. You can also ask for a Free T3 test along with the Free thyroxine T4. You are high on the FT4 and it would be wise to check that Free T3 also to see if you are high there too.

I think at 20 yrs old an inflammed prostate is very uncommon. What is your doctor saying about all this other stuff going on?
