Need Help with TSH, T4, T3 Results - 80% hair loss

Hello,

I would be extremely grateful if someone could please look at my Thyroid test results and let me know if you think I could have a Thyroid issue.  I've had major hair loss over the last 2 years and I want to figure out what the issue is.  I also have geographic tongue, which can burn.

TSH 2.55 (0.45-4.5)
Thyroxine (T4) - 6.9 (4.5-12.0)
T3 Uptake 25 - (24-39)
Free Thyroxine Index (1.2-4.9)

I do not have any weight gain.. in fact, I have issues gaining weight.  Do you think I can have a thyroid issue?

Thanks so much!

Geographic tongue has been linked with various conditions including vitamin B deficiencies, zinc deficiency, anaemia, psoriasis or other skin disorders, allergies or autoimmune disorders, diabetes, stress, birth control pills, hormonal changes.  Most thyroid conditions in developed countries are autoimmune - Hashimoto's thyroiditis, Graves' disease. Thyroid antibodies are recommended when thyroid disease is suspected. What other symptoms do you have?

It is entirely possible, but you need to have some different tests done.  The tests for Total T4, T3 uptake and FT Index are somewhat outdated and not nearly as revealing as would be tests for Free T3 and Free T4.  So, I suggest that you should have those done, along with Vitamin D, B12 and ferritin (iron).

If you can get those done, and post results along with reference ranges, members will be better able to assess your thyroid status.
