Hi...I am no expert, but would suggest that u have ur PC dr set up some testing...barium swallow study to see what is going on ( I had this...not fun, but it should be done) There are others here that can suggest what blood labs that should be done...u need to get a dx....ur dr may also schedule an ultra sound to check for nodules ect.....try an relax...I know it's not easy...but stress will add to ur list of symptoms.
i had the same problem in 2002. popping or clicking throat when swallowing saliva. i went to UCLA and Dr. Gerald Berke performed a 45-minute outpatient surgery to remove a cartilage known as the superior cornu that was causing the hyoid bone to pop. the problem was solved.
good luck !
Your symptoms sound very like GERD (Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease), which is basically where you produce too much acid. This splashes back up into your throat causing irritation, dryness and pain. Difficulty swallowing and choking are also very common. It is very easily treatable with meds. If I were you I'd ask your doc about this along with other possible conditions.
Get to ur drs office and get a complete check up.
Good luck
Godspeed
