Levo, Synthroid or any T4 medicine takes a while to enter or deplete from your bloodstream, therefore, it doesn't matter when you take it. It takes days for the adjustments to take affect so it doesn't really matter when you take the pill. If you have any hypo symptoms it will show up on the blood work. I would make sure that they check my free T3 and free T4 in case there is a T4 to T3 conversion problem. Good luck and keep us posted.
You are doing it right, according to the mfg. which states to take meds in the AM on an empty stomach about 30 to 60 min. before eating.
If you are hypo it is suggested to get level tested as late in the after noon as possible because that is when levels are the most hypo. If you are hyper it is suggested to have Labs done as early as possible in the AM because that is when we are more hyper. For thyroid surgery after cancer I guess it doesn't make a difference.
So since I dont have my Thyroid any more then it doesnt matter ? right? Just want to do this right.
According to my endo, because I did ask him, it doesn't matter when the blood work is done if you had a TT. I did feel sluggish in the afternoons, until he put me on a T4/T3 combo, and I though to try to get my bloodwork done in the afternoon to show him that I was falling asleep while driving home from work and it didn't show anything abnormal. And that's when he advised me that it wouldn't really matter since the T4 medicine takes so long to take effect. I feel much better now that I am on the T4/T3 combo. I still get tired once in a while but not everyday as before. That's when we found the T4/T3 conversion problems.
