New nodule results help needed

RAI completed 12-07 2 nodules

This is the result os an U/S completed on 1/08/09

1) hypoechoic nodule in the inferior pole on the right that is solid 0.4 x 0.4 x .04 cm
    it iw well circumscribed.

2) The isthmus is .25cm and is heterogeneous in echotexture

3)  There is an isoechoic nodule seen in the lower pole  0.3 x 0.5 x 0.5 cm

4) The upper pole, there is a nodule  1.0 x 0.9 x 0.5

I thought the rai was suppose to get rid of the daggone nodules.  Is this why I'm feeling so yucky and ny neck is starting to stick out on the side.

Would greatly appreciate your input.  Thanks in advance.

Terri

If nodules were "cold", RAI cannot destroy these

The doctor kept looking at me dumbfounded that he missed the larger nodule when he did the U/S back over a year ago.  He only found two, thus the RAI treatment in December 2007.   The RAI was to ablate the thyroid.  Here I am 16 months later and I now have 3 nodules, one over 1 cm.  Now he wants to do a FNA on the 1 cm nodule.

I really think he is confused as to what is going on with me.  The expression on his face said it all.  I mean this guy stood and watched me for a good 3-4 minutes after he read the new U/S report just looking at me dumbfounded.
