You said the hospital gave you a copy of the blood work. Please post the tests run, results and reference ranges. The reference ranges are very important because they vary from lab to lab, so MUST come from your own report.
Since it takes 4-6 weeks for a dosage change to take effect, the way you feel now, would be from something that was done several weeks ago; like maybe starting the levo.
She raised it because my levels at the start of this were 15 and after being on Levo went to 25 she is thinking meds were to low but still has no idea why labs say hypo and having hyper symptons.
I have learned so much from this board and thank you for the feed back, I will ask my doctor for anti-body test. I am going in for a MRI today what are they looking for do you think? I must admit I am a little worried about taking the Synthroid today as I feel so good today and felt pretty good yesterday weird huh?
If you are truly Hyper which means too much Thyroid. Then Yes stopping the meds that raise your Thyroid would likely make you feel better.
I'm a little confused as to why the Dr. raised your dosage as you were going Hyper?
your symptoms prior to this latest episode were consistent with being Hypo (low thyroid) except for the racing heart beat which is more generally consistent with being hyper (overactive thyroid).
In addition to the Free T3 & Free T4 you may also want to get the anti-body tests. These to check for Hashimoto's and or graves disease.
Just had to post that I have been off my Levothyroxin now for 3 days ,had to wait that long for my Synthroid to be ordered by the pharmacy they did not carry it , but I feel better after being off the levo then I have in the last 2 weeks is this weird?I start the Synthroid today, just for an FYI..
I also have severe neck pain and been having headaches.
I started out with extreme fatigue, difficulty concentrating, feeling cold,,constipation hair falling out and racing heart, weight gain(very small),hoarseness, high cholesterol and hurting under my arm in my lymph nodes they are just so painful. I went to the ER and they were the ones to find the thyroid issue they gave me a copy of the blood work and had me go to my regular doctor. I now have all the same symptons ,except no constipation and can not stand the heat I sweat all the time, and can't remember things which is not good at my job, muscles feel weak,my eyes are very dry all the timeand I get light headed and it seems my balance is off.and I am losing weight.and trouble sleeping.and my lymph nodes still have pain but no lumps just the pain. Also have panic attacks but I had that when all this started. I did go to a heart Doctor they did test and said my heart was fine ,so my Doctor put me on Clonazepam 0.5 Mg to take as needed.I am for sure very lucky to have my Doctor she is great and I wish all of you could have some onme like her on your side because this thyroid thing can make you think you are going crazy,I know I did at first I thought I was dying.I will have to get my test results and then I will post them ...Today is the MRI not sure what they r looking for ?
I am sure some others will chime in but off the top of my mind ask for Free T3 and Free T4. It is possible for hyper symptoms to actually be hypo symptoms. What symptoms are you experiencing? You may be very lucky to have found a doctor like this I also have no insurance..
