OT: I'm am so sick and tired of being...you know. Caution: pity party!

Last week I got really sick and just kept getting worse.  By Wed last week I couldn't hardly open my mouth for pain in my jaw and swollen lymph nodes to bad I couldn't turn my head, and even hurt to swallow.  After spending a sleepless night in agony and making myself not wake up husband to take me to ER, have too big of a bill there already, I called my pcp only to be told that he couldn't see me, he didn't have time.  Then she told me she could make me an appt. the first week of Aug.  What day would I like?  What are they, kidding?  Said he was going on vacation the next week.  When I told her I couldn't wait she told me he said that I should go to the ER!  Argh!  

Anyway, I ended up in a walk in clinic with a PA.  I had a severely infected jaw and he said the infection was so bad it had spread to the lymph nodes.  Gave me a shot of cortisone for the swelling, only thought it was painful, 5 samples of Levaquin 750mg, and a whole bunch of Lortab.  LOVED the cortisone shot for 24 hrs, no arthritis pain whatsoever, except it did such a number on my already messed up stomach.  Oh, had also just started treatment the night before for some nasty little parasite I picked up in some drinking water, tend to believe it's probably the well water some of my in-laws have, and was already sick as a dog from that.

So here I was today, well, yesterday, now, had to take my little boy to his ped for a bad sinus infection and thought I should stop by the walk-in clinic to see the dr for an update since I am still not well.  The infection is still there and now has spread to the entire left side of my face and head.
Last night took last treatment (I hope and pray) for parasitic infection and today got massive shot of Rocephin, and might I add OWWWWW!!!!!  Steroid shot was nothing.  Pin *****.  Honey bee sting.  I feel like something nasty and venomous bit me in the butt and won't quit hurting!  He also gave me a script for 10 days worth of Levaquin.  My stomach is in agony.  Have taken half the cabinet of stomach meds, no Rolaids or such as that, and am still in agony.  I also took Dramamine which makes me soooo sleepy, but I can't sleep b/c my Requip for the RLS isn't working tonight.

Unfortunately the Lortab did me no good, the 2 nights I took it thought I was going to die from ... something.  Didn't know what just knew I couldn't go on feeling that bad.  So they are useless to me.

So I just had to let you all in on my little pity party tonight :(  lol  Actually wanted you all to know why I haven't been on here much.  I've been reading just not posting much and really haven't been able to keep up with everything going on.  Hopefully, I'll be back to as normal as I get soon and will be back on here.

Prilosec is an every day med around here for me and my son.  We both suffer badly from acid reflux.  His dr finally gave in and gave Prilosec b/c nothing else worked for him even though he's only 7.  I am right now eating the things like candy it seems.  

Am still having trouble sitting and moving b/c of that blasted shot.  My pharmacist told me today it would feel like I had really pulled a muscle in my rear end and he was right.

Cat33 did it mention the lymphnodes on your head?  Yep, know about those now, too.  Didn't know they existed last week.  Guess I'm learning new things b/c of this. ;)

Rhonda and Lori-- I am sorry you have both been having such a bad time of it.  I have been reading some and trying to keep up.  Have been really worried about the froggie.  I hope things are going much better for both of you.

Even if I'm not on here every day know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

As somebody who's body just hates all meds I sure feel for you!!!!!!! If the meds say eat something with it then EAT. If it says drink plenty of water then DRINK. I know feeling sick and having your stomach upset AND swelling you probably dont feel like it but thats an awful lot of meds in your system!!
When my daughter almost killed herself from hairdye ( long story) they had her take priolsec and claritan to help cover "all the bases" if she skiped one of them then her stomach started acting up. Might be worth a shot to try it.
But the best thing to get all the icky stuff out of your system is to drink drink drink. ((((((((Dac))))))

::::::::::::e-hugs:::::::::::: what awful pain and so glad you addressed the infection as that can spread to your brain (really, can be serious stuff) if left untreated.  Sounds worse than root canal ... OUCH!

You can get Loratab's made up @ compounding pharmacy in suppository form.  On my kidney stone board some use it that way .. they say it works wonders.

Levaquin is heavy-duty stuff .. I took it for over a mo. for urinary tract infection from kidney stone passing in March.  I get dizzy from the stuff.  There are different mg's and I bet you are on higher one with that kind of infection!!!

Maybe some Prilosec in the mix will help but needs to be spaced out accordingly .. good luck with that.

Awwwww, sweetie.  You sound absolutely miserable.  And your poor baby's sick too.  I hope you both feel better soon.

You go right on ahead and have a pity party.  You're entitled!!  If you're reading posts, I'm sure you saw that I had my own last night.  I sure felt better after posting though.  Sounds like you've had a heck of a week.  I'm so sorry you're not feeling well, and hope it all turns around real soon.  I'll be praying for you!!

hOPE YOU GET BETTER REAL SOON . SOUNDS LIKE A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.. I WAS CHECKING OUT LYMPH NODES ON THE NET FOR OTHER REASONS AND COULDNT BELIEVE HOW MANY WE HAVE. DURING THE PROCESS OF HAVING A LIVER BIOPSY THE DR. ACCIDENTLY TOOK OU A PORTION OF MY LYMPH NODE. NO LIVER SO ILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT ORDEAL AGAIN. I NEVER NEW WE HAD LYMPH NODES ON OUR LIVER. ALONG OUR SPINE WE ONLY FEEL THE ONES ON OUR NECK AND UNDER OUR ARM PITS OTHER PLACES AS WELL BUT THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.
