Hi all! I haven't been answering posts very much lately. Some of you know that I have a preliminary diagnosis of NeurologicFocal neurological deficits Multiple system atrophy Lyme Disease that has gone untreated since I had a bulls-eye rash in 1994.
I see the Lyme specialist this Thursday! I am very anxious, yet excited about finally getting treatment for this thing that has taken 14 years (off and on) from me.
The appointment will be an exhaustive 1 1/2 hours and I still may have to wait on further tests prior to starting treatment. It may take many, many months to get better. But I am very hopeful!
I brought my laptop with me to my orthopedist appt and it really made a huge difference .. he looked at it very objectively and saw my pain w/o having to ask me .. he then pointed on the tracker and asked me ?'s to start the conversation.
I have an expandable file folder (geek) with all my labs, MRI's, doctor notes and questions ready for the appt. Ot almost ready- I need to put them in chronological order again.
The doctor has had me fill out a very long, inclusive questionaire to bring along.
You are one of the lucky ones in finding drs who actually believe in chronic lymes....you are on the right path! Stay positive because it looks like your break is coming!
Don't forget to let me know how this appt goes.
I have thanked the endo for not kicking me to the curb when all appeared well with my thyroid. He could have said, this is not an endocrineEndocrine glands Pancreatic islet cell tumor problem and sent me on my way, but he didn't.

It is actually thanks to an old member on this forum to whom I am grateful. I read a post of hers where she described her sensation of "vertigo" I contacted her and started seeing her endo back in January. He is soooo wonderful. He recommended this Lyme doctor to me after I was going to see his partner on my own anyway! In fact, untreated CNS Lyme was first on his differential diagnosis after we discussed my thyroid.
