Off natural meds

I had to get off Armour thyroid extract because they are not making it anymore. On levothyroxin and hope it is helping me. Have to get tested next week. Hope I can take 100mcgs without any side effects to affect my heart.

There may be a shortage of Armour - but you do have choices to remain on natural desiccated thyroid if you choose to .

You are taking a totally different script now than what you were on - I suggest tracking your dosage and symptoms while on the new script and if you don't respond well - then you must go back to what worked well for you.

***They are shipping 1 grain size Armour again in limited orders, look on the Forrest/Amour web site. Different pharmas use different distributors. So you need to call around. Places by me have new shipments in now. Dont rely on your doctor to find it or information on reliability. We can keep you more informed about this situation than you doctor (sad but true). Always call places ahead of time before you runout!

The FDA temporarily halted shipping since Armour has new filler / binders in it, therefore it is now technically a new and different drug than before needing FDA approval.

I don't use Armour, but I know there are some on this forum that DO take it. I believe they ARE still making it, although there was a reformulation and it's been harder to get.  I'm sure someone who's been using it, will be along soon to answer your question for sure.
