I just had blood work white blood count was alittle low 4.1 and my platelet count was alittle high 420.  Can Tapazole do that to your blood counts, has this ever happened to anyone what did you do?

When I was on Tapazole, I carried a script for blood work in case I ever developed an infection while on the medication.  There can be an impact on white cell count, but this side effect is very rare.  Had I developed an infection, the doctor would have stopped the medication until my the white cell count returned to normal.

I want to say that with an infection, your white cell count goes higher, not lower.   Sorry I can't be more specific, it has been a while since I went off the medication (total thyroidectomy in May '06)

If you are concerned, give your doctor a call.
