Orbital Floor Replacement after Orbital Decompression

Hello,

I had an orbital decompression for TED about 15 years ago.  Most of my orbital floor in my right eye was removed and within the last year my eye has sunken downward about 4 mm. My doctor would like to put a thin plastic prosthetic under my eye to prop it up. I am honestly scared but this! Does anyone know if there are long term consequences. I also read some doctors are using injectables instead of surgery, I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

Thank you,
Piper
