Once the TSH levels start coming back into normal range, symptoms of anxiety certainly get better. My Endo believes I have had Hyperthyroidism for year and not known it. Levels were off the chart. Have been treated since October. go every month for lab work.
Matter of fact, I go tomorrow. Had labs drawn on Friday. We'll see where I'm at this month:)
Sometimes the symptoms vary. It may be that the way your body is set up you do not sweat much naturally. It also may be that you are not hyperthyroid severely enough to have developed the symptoms you ask about.
I know when I am wondering if I am going a little hyper, I use the "stick your hands out" test. My hands tremble. Holding a fork over my plate it is quite obvious to see.
When I had bad sweating problems, I was severely hyper. It was embarrassing. I would take a shower and by the time I was dressed I would smell. I would sweat through the sheets at night to the point that it would wake me up laying in the wetness. Gross.
It may be that you are hyper but not severely hyper yet.
Can anyone help answer my last question? thank you
Thank you everyone,
I have one more question and then I shall just wait for the results:
I am not hot! I don't sweat too much and I thought that was a very common symptom to have????
I have all the other symptoms, just not that one.
Thank you all for you time.

Just do not let your doctor make you think it is all depression/anxiety, it is not! And do not wait to long to get answeres or it could turn into graves disease and then you will really start having problems. Graves diseases start effecting all organs, my body acted like I was diabetic so had to get insulin shots while in the hospital, my kidneys were also giving signs of having problems, my eyes bulged out. DO NOT WAIT.....
But like i said, once i had the TT, my body went back to normal, but eyes are still a little bulgy, but not that bad..
That's what the Dr had me do, I stuck my hands out and they shook soo much
I thought it was because of my meds as i take paroxetine.
Thank you everyone, I hope to get to the bottom of all of this and find a answer to all ym anxiety and depression.
Thank you
Stick your hands out.. are they shaky? When i went to the doctor the first thing the dr. had me do was stick my hands out, they would not stay still. Prior to this doctor they were treating me for depression/aniety, turned out I had hyperthyroidism/graves disease. Had a TT done, and all the symptoms went away....
Hi Joyce
Thyroid levels can fluctuate at any stage or time so yes, it may be hyperthyroidism.
That sure causes anxiety.
Ask your Doctor what your FT4, FT3 and TSH levels were on the previous test and also the last test.
If your FT3 & FT4 is elevated, then you have hyperthyroidism and can take anti-thyroid medications to get it under control.
Have blood tests done every 2 weeks when you first take thyroid medication.
A beta blocker can be taken to alleviate the hyper symptoms whilst the anti-thyroid meds start to get into your system.
But this is only if you are suffering from hyperthyroidism.
See your Doctor for your results and also ask him to run antibody tests too.
Hope this helps

With some autoimmune disorders your TSH can fluctuate widely ...... and even with normal #'s sometimes you can have anxiety that is driven by the TSH .. as in my case .. my normal is 2.8 but when down to <1.0 I have awful anxeity ... at 1.8 I am absolutely fine ... I am on meds bcz of some cancer findings, but had NORMAL labs and ifnot for my surgery I still would be treating my PMS monthly anxeity with Ativan .. now with a TSH of 1.8 I have zero anxiety any time of the month and with normal stress factors, too.
