MY ENDO DOCTOR WANTS ME TO SWITH FROM 150 MG SYNTROID TO 137MG SYNTROID. DO YOU THING IS THIS A GOOD IDEA? AND MY FAMILY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO DO WHOLE BODY BONE SCAN. IS THAT FOR METASTASIC DESISE? BUT I THOUGHT MY CANCER"S LEVEL LOOKED FINE. I AM IN PAIN AND A LITTLE AFFRAID. WHAT DO YOU THINK? MY LEGS LOOK ABSOLUTELY NORMAL. THEY ARE NOT RED OR SWALLING. THEY CHECKED BLOOD WORK FOR LUPOS AND LIME DESIASE--ALL NEGATIVE.SO WHAT ELSE IT CAN BE? I REALLY APPRICIATE YOUR ADVISE.THANK YOU SO MUCH.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ANSWER. BUT MY ENDO WANTS ME TO GO DOWN ON MY SYNTROID . FROM 150 MG TO 137MG. SHE WANTS ME TO TAKE SMALLER DOSAGE. AND I WAS TAKING CALCIUM FOREVERBUT I GOT MY PAIN ONLY THREE WEEKS AGO. ANY IDEA WHAT IT MIGHT BE?
TSH 0.02 means you could be going hyper and need a lower dose of synthroid, which should help with your pain. I was explained b my GP and ATS that symptoms can take one year to go away after TSH is stabilized...I did go through this a few years back...Hang in there it'll be ok:))
If you seek another Dr. I would see a Rheumatologist. They deal with other issues beyond the good tests your Dr. has done .. they send out oodles of bloodwork and test with very very high level bloodtests things you and I would never think of ..... my daughter had a bad reactive arthritis with elevated sed rate, etc., and they did 12 vials of blood to rule all sorts of things out .... sometimes this kind of thing is a process of exclusion and takes awhile to figure out .. they rule out the "big stuff" first and work their way down. An elevated sed rate of 38 does indicate "something" may be going on .. anything over 20 they do look @ and I've been told the # of the Sed Rate helps to figure out what may be going on but I don't know beyond that.
May be Endo related, but I'd consider a Rheumy to add to your specialists and let them confer.
I know what you are going through. When my TSH was very low I also had very bad aches in my arms, elbows, wrists, knees and fingers. I thought I had lupus but my endocrine doctor said that my TSH was too low and I was put on medicine (my thyroid worked too much). Lowering your medicine should help but it might take 4 to 6 weeks for you to feel better. I agree with the others that you might need to see a rheumatology doctor, too. Sometimes people with thyroid problems also have rheumatology problems, too. Lots of times the immune system hurts the thyroid and other parts of the body, too. Please come back and let us know how you are doing.
O MY GOD! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYBODY FOR YOUR COMMENTS. IT REALLY HELPS. BECAUSE I AM WORKING FULL TIME . AND ONLY HAVE ONE WORD IN MY HEAD--- CANCER. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT. THIS PAIN IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.
