PLEASE HELP! Desperate with Hypothyrodism

Please help! I'm 35 yrs; wife & mom to 3 (6, 5, 3 yrs). Usually low, key, happy person. Was diagnosed with Hypothyrodism 2 1/2 yrs ago. In August 2010, finally got my levels to be within normal limits. Was starting to feel better, but Dr. gave me generic Wellbutrin (125) because i couldn't stop crying. Felt like I was starting to go crazy. Went back in Dec 2010 and labs showed that my thyroid levels were completely out of whack. Dr. increased my levoxyl to 125 and generic Wellbutin to 300.  i feel like I'm literally CRAZY, very depressed and angry.  :(  I'm SO discouraged and am loosing hope that I'll ever be myself again.  Not sure what to do and don't know if I feel this way because of my thyroid, because of the Wellbutrin or because I'm now a crazy person?!  Please help me...i feel desperate and don't want to feel this way!  :(  .  (Also on prescription med for weight loss)

It's very hard to lose weight if your FT3 and FT4 levels aren't adequate.  Although you've lost a fair amount of weight in the past year, you'd probably be better off in terms of your general health if you work an getting your thyroid levels right rather than taking weight loss drugs.  (And, you can stay on thyroid hormones long term!)

I'll look forward to seeing your labs.

I forgot to get a copy of my results from my last couple of visits and will try to do that tomorrow and post the results.

As for weight loss, I'm on Phentermine 37.5MG. Not sure it really has helped.....weight loss is extremely difficult for me, regardless of what I do. Since starting Phentermine in Feb 2010 I have lost 20 lbs, which I am glad about, but it's been almost a year and a ton of work!  My doctor said Phentermine can be addictive and I shouldn't take it longer than a year, so it's just about time for me to stop it.

Thanks again..

Please post he results of both August and December thyroid blood work.  Include the reference ranges since these vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.

What are you on for weight loss?
