Pain at the base of tongue
I'm suffering from pain at the base of tongue. What would the possible causes of this?
Consulted doctor, he's not sure, he just gave me some antibiotics & painkillers.
Anyone can advise?

I get this discomfort too. I have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux and wonder, if there is a possibility that the Prilosec isn't totally controlling it.
At the base (root) of our tongue is lingual tonsils. A possibility of lingual tonsillitis? Or being it part of the lymphatic system, if thyroid can affect it. If I recall correctly, while were were being formed in the womb, our thyroids began at the base of the tongue and descended down in it's rightful place. I question if we can have residual thyroid tissue there.

Anyway, a few thoughts. I know it probably hasn't help any. That said, I do feel for you.
