Pain/discomfort on the sides of my neck

by dbrock, Mar 27, 2008 12:54AM
I have and sort of pain/discomfort(doesn't really hurt) on the sides of  my neck not so much in my throat but like on the sides and back of it.  I have taken antibiotics for it as it seems to go away for a bit but then it just comes right back. It feels kind of like a throbbing feeling or like something is growing. Its hard to explain. Lately it seems like I have been having to clear my throat a lot and also have a little cough and my voice seems a bit hoarse. Do you think it could be throat cancer? I have never smoked but my father did.

I think the best solution would be to have an ultra sound on your thyroid and neck. That is how I found out about my current situation. I had the same symptoms you are describing, only mine was on the left side prominently.
