Parathyroid level 342-878 for 2 years, now 32...

THANK YOU first of all for ADDING Parathyroid to the thyroid forums.
I have had an extremely high PTH level for 2 years (starting during radiation treatment for breast cancer in Jan. '06).
Last week my level finally was 'normal' at 32.  Normal Calcium levels all this time (9.0-9.2).  Endocrinologist is stymied, we have NO clue what is going on...will retest in 4 weeks.  CAN radiation spike the PTH levels?  I had a previous parathyroidectomy in 2002 (primary hyperparathyroidism) with a tumor removed from a parathyroid gland found in my LEFT CHEST...radiation was to the RIGHT BREAST/underarm/lymph diseased.   Ultrasounds and Sestamibi Scans have NOT found ANY parathyroids at all (of course they are there, but not found).   WHAT is your opinion...I've written to you before, Dr. Lupo...and know you get all kinds of more important questions.  THANK YOU.
~juli
*Also hypothyroid, taking 25mcg of levothyroxine, just increased last week, just as pth went normal, tsh went higher.
Vitamin D levels fine after deficiency/no kidney-renal disease.

Thank you both...guess I must not be able to navigate this site very well!   It appears I'm NOT posting my questions to Dr. Lupo at all.
Can one of you direct me to the correct 'questions to Dr. Lupo' site?
I'll copy and paste my above question...I am glad that PARATHYROID was picked so we can choose that as the subject, but I still note that Dr. Lupo's qualifications do NOT say parathyroid at all.  And, no, not every endocrinologist sees parathyroid issues, so it may be a moot point with Dr. Lupo...I do not know yet...will hopefully get to hear from him...thank you again....juli

I know you are addressing this question to Dr Lupo after reading it. but he does not visit this side often.

I wonderful member here Thypatient has so much information on parathyroids - I hope she stops by here.

PM her if you don't get any other visitors - I wish I could help - but this is far beyond me.
