I was diagonised about two years ago with GravesGraves disease Disease (hyperthyroidism), I was taking medicine for about a year and a half, and then briefly stopped taking it. After some blood tests, my Dr. found I still had hyperthyroidism, however, my pituitary gland was NOT producing anything--and this was being off medicine for approx. a month or two. (I was not having anymore symptoms of the hyperthyroidism, and after accidently missing a couple doses, and after not feeling any different, I just stopped taking it altogether for about a month and a half) After these test results, my doctor then increased the original dosage I had previously been put on over a year and a half ago, and I took it for a month striaght without missing a single dose. The new blood test came back with the same levels (hyperthyroidism but my pituitary not producing anything), there were absolute no changes at all in the numbers. So whether or not I am on medication, my levels are staying consistent, my thyroid is over producing/my pituitary gland not producing. My concern is why the pituitary gland is not producing anything, and what else could be causing this or being affected? My Dr. said he has no idea what is going on, and was shocked that my test results had not changed at all after being on medicine consistently for a full month vs. the results from when I was not taking anything, so he is referring me to a specialist.
