In February my TSH was 3.98 (only test done). Began 25mcg of Levothyroxine.
On April 1st my TSH was 4.335, Free T4 was 1.08 and Free T3 was 3.5 this was after being on Levothyroxine 25mcg since February 19th.
On April 3rd my TSH was 2.820 and free T4 was 0.83 and TPO antibodies were greater than 1000. Normal antibody levels should be under 35. I was suppose to have these labs drawn 5 weeks after the previous ones but I got confused and had them drawn to early.
What is anyone's insight to the levels and why did my TSH jump around so much in such a short time with no change in meditcation and is this partly why I feel so bad?????
Hi there and welcome! Hashimoto's autoimmune disease is a roller coaster ride at times. Your body has developed antibodies which are attacking and destroying your thyroid gland. Over time it will destroy more and more tissue until it destroys all of it and you are on full replacement. Over time as well you can expect the swings of hypo and hyper when antibodies are in attack mode. The hyper modes do not last long and usually result in more hypo levels and increase in meds.
This is a difficult road but not a forever road. Try to understand what is going on in your body with this disease and you will learn not to be afraid, but will then know..."oh this is part of the process" ....this too shall pass.
It will help with the anxiety of it all.
Optimum levels for TSH for Hashi patient are .50-1.0 in order to keep symptoms at a miniamal. Anything over this level and you will have hypo symptoms, and your body can get sicker.
Hope this helps!
