I got my test results back. It is quite interesting. Last month my thyroid antibodies were above 250 and this month they -anti-thy perox-were 25 with reference less than 40. I'm not sure how they decreased that fast in a month. I have stopped taking my thyroid meds because every time I take them I get horrible panic attacks, heart palps, head aches..etc etc. My TSH went from 11 to 2.6 without meds???? How does this happen? It's fluctuating from hypo to hyper in extreme amounts every month. Here the results and a new problem. Over the phone they expressed concern over the parathyroid which they said was marginal? What does this mean? My endo doesn't understand any of this stuff and I want to know what to ask for on Monday. TSH - 2.660, normal .550-4.78 Free T4 - 1.16 normal .70-1.76 Free T3 - 3.23 normal 2.3-4..I wanted him to test for both hashimotos and graves antibodies, but he didn't apparently. parathyroid studies
PTH intact- 52 normal 14-72
Calcium - 10.0 normal 8.5-10.1
Vitamin D - 11 normal greater than30
So he said Monday we will discuss the vitamin D which is low and the marginal parathyroid results. Does this mean I have a problem with it or not? From what I read, your calcium levels should really never be in the 10's and even with a normal PTH is is suggestive of parathyroid issues. Is this true? Could this be why I am having panic attacks, raised blood pressure, headache and side effects to my thyroid meds? Once again thank you all for the help. I don't know what I would do without you all.
